WALTER ROCCARO
Walter Roccaro was born in Bari (Italy) on 1969 and achieved his Piano degree with top honors. He also graduated from the Law School at the University of Bari.
He studied in Milan with Bruno Canino, whose teaching was really important for his artistic development.
Winner of ten National and International Piano Competitions, he was acclaimed for his performances in several recitals and concerts with orchestra at renown concert halls and festivals including, among others, Melbourne International Music Festival, Salle de Concert at the Citè de la Musique (Paris), Muziektheater (Amsterdam), Fest Spiel Haus (St. Polten –Wien), D. Alighieri Theater (Ravenna), A. Manzoni Theater (Milan), Ravello Music Festival, Parco della Musica/Sala Petrassi (Rome), Massimo Theater (Palermo).
His musical phrasing, musicality and brilliant piano virtuoso technique led Mr. Roccaro to be esteemed by famous musicians, namely Bruno Canino, Cristiano Rossi, François-Joël Thiollier, Elena Zaniboni.
Teaching represents an important part of Mr. Roccaro’s musical life: he was the Head of the Keyboard studies Department and he is currently a piano professor and director of the “A. Scontrino” Music Conservatory in Trapani.
His pupils are winners of prestigious piano competitions and have undertaken brilliant careers worldwide.
Mr. Roccaro is regularly invited to serve as juror for National and International Piano Competitions, and for masterclasses at prestigious Italian and International Academies.
