AmiCa, Associazione musicale internazionale del Calatino, was founded in September 2010 due to a vital urge to spread musical culture in Sicily, in particular in the so-called Calatino: a breathtaking area that can be the perfect frame for the high-profile artistic activity that we propose. Excellence is a fixed point that AmiCa wants to pursue in all its manifestations, indeed we have achieved the collaboration of several international organizations and personalities. For a decade, AmiCa has organized concerts of any genre, book presentations, talks, art exhibitions, plays, guided tours, cultural classes, seminars, and movie projections, all on the common terrain of music. The latest and of international scale events AmiCa has organized, making flourish the experience and knowledge accumulated over the years, are AmiCaFest and #StayHomeInternational Piano Competition.
AmiCaFest is a summer piano festival that provides its participants with an unforgettable experience, through many opportunities, including piano lessons and masterclasses with renowned artists, and the chance to perform with a professional orchestra at the Teatro Massimo Vincenzo Bellini in Catania, the historical Opera House named after the composer Vincenzo Bellini.
#StayHomeInternational Piano Competition was, born with the aim of helping musicians during the hardship caused by the CODIV-19 pandemic, provides motivation, performing opportunities and financial relief to talented pianists. The competition is entirely held online and has developed a young division, #StayHome Young, for participants until the age of 19.
