Celebrated for his ‘intimate dialogue between him and the audience’ (Barrie Examiner), Chris Au is an Australian concert pianist who is passionate about sharing the beauty of the arts. Chris is a winner of the 2020 Texas State International Piano Concerto Competition, 2020 Semi-Finalist of the Maestro Taiwan International Piano Competition and Prizewinner of the 2016 Shean Piano Competition. He began serious studies at 14 with Margaret Hair, and although hindered for a few years by the diagnosis of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, he attained full scholarships at the Colburn School and the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music where he studied with Ory Shihor, John Perry, and David Louie. Chris has worked intimately in masterclasses with Leon Fleisher, Richard Goode, Krzyzstof Jablonski, Marietta Orlov, Robert McDonald, Marc Durand, and Andre Leplante. Recently, he received his Masters of Music at the University of Montreal, working with Jean Saulnier and Jeanne Amiele.
