HSIN-JO CHAN
Age: 25 | Country: Taiwan
Hsin-Jo Chan was born in Taiwan and was raised in a Non-school Type of Education. In addition to normal school subjects such as Languages, Math, Science and Social Study, she could also learn piano, violin, ballet, Tai Chi and Chinese medicines. Her mother introduced her to piano when she was five and she was instructed by Prof. Chang Chen and Prof. Chun-Chieh Yen (Professor at Taiwan Normal University) later on. At about sixteen years old, seeing her good learning ability in Math, Science and Chinese medicine, her father encouraged Hsin-Jo to study in medical school to be a physician majoring in Chinese medicine. Yet, later, she realized that she passionately enjoyed the atmosphere of performing on stages and believed that the love and enjoyment of music would lead her to devote herself to stage performance. Currently, Hsin-Jo is studying at the Zurich University of Art under the guidance of Prof. Konstantin Scherbakov. In 2019, she was selected to the Semi Final of the 18th Piano Campus International piano competition (France); in 2015 she qualified to the Preliminary Round of the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition held in Warsaw (Poland); and in 2012 she performed Beethoven Violin Concerto with the Moon String Chamber Orchestra in Hsinchu (Taiwan).
